Its speed was 2.4kpbs and it allowed calls within the country by using the Analog Signals, as we know that it was less developed and less advanced than the second and third generation, therefore it has certain limitations such as poor voice quality, poor battery life, and limited capacity. However, it was important because it paved the way for the development of second-generation technology.
2G
2G, GSM based technology was the second generation technology and it was known as 2G. It was launched in Finland in 1991. Its speed was 64kpbs and it used digital signals. It was developed than the 1G technology and enabled services such as text messages and MMS. However, the network was unable to support the videos, After the 2G technology, 3G was launched to overcome the shortcomings of 2G technology.

3G
3G technology was introduced in the year 2000. The speed of the 3G increased to 2Mbps. It was advanced enough to accommodate web-based applications and audio, video files. Its speed was much better than the first and second generation and it took 1.5 minutes to download a 3 min mp3 song. However, it costed a huge budget for mobile companies because it required a whole new setup and stations. It is a “Magic” in the field of information technology and it is accessible anywhere, anytime with its customized mobile services. It gives more security, high speed, and high capacity. However, it consumes more battery, needs complicated hardware and expensive devices are required to implement 4G services. 5G

Currently, 5G services are available in the world but they are limited to some developed countries and some major cities of those developed countries.
